Friday Night Movie: It Started with Eve

Welcome to the debut of a new Vesties blog feature, the Friday Night Movie. Members of the Vesties team will honor one of their favorite movies in seriously swell Etsy style, with a treasury of course. Stop by every Friday to see what's showing!

The inaugural director is Janine from Moms Antiques N Things. Janine has been an Etsy seller since 2007, specializing in antiques, vintage, collectibles, altered art, collage, mixed media and handmade wreaths.

Without further ado, here's Janine:
My favorite movie is from 1941--a romantic comedy entitled It Started with Eve, starring Charles Laughton who is adorable as a meddling, conniving father trying to get his son to marry. As the imposter fiance, Deanna Durbin's powerful voice and piano playing is masterful, and if it doesn't make you shed a tear when she sings "Goin' Home" you have no heart. (Just kidding!) Robert Cummings (the son) brings in the romance and you have a warm, fun-hearted tale! I never get tired of watching it.
This is one of my favorite scenes because she sounds like my mother when she sings, well, when she used to sing. My mom is 87 now and doesn't sing too much anymore.
